Belle Amie

You sat and strained for years
Now you sit eyes heavy lidded, a hint of tears
Your shoulders sloped from the weight of it all
Seeking that reward prominently framed

At a distance your peer
Step by step without a fear
Striding free from the binders product
To a point much eagerly desired

Now, bend your triumphant glance
As you promenade proudly gowned in synchronised exuberance
Rigidly posed your smile though like your heart purely given
To the ecstasy of this wonderful celebration

You stand amid the sea of the featureless
In this strident pomp to egress
Not gentle, innocuous just osculating beauty
Stark, voluptuous, reality in sight

Inseparable in thought and mind
passionate separating from your cap

I knew that you would do this... make me smile and cry. (Lucky thing I read this BEFORE I put my make-up on )

Darling, God has blessed me twice. Not only with graduating with honours, but with His love and yours. I have learned a painful lesson that UWI failed to teach me. Patience. I run to quickly. I see a storm and I bolt. I miss a lot of rainbows. Still, I lie awake and think, "why'd you bolt from him just because a doubt bothered you daily?" ..... and then comes another rainbow: the certainty that God cares so much about your happiness and mine that He'll work everything out even though we don't understand it.

I am printing this. A large one for my collection, and a small one to place against my bossom, nearer my heart than my own breath, and I am taking you with me tonight to the graduation ceremony.

My life will be good, once my two favourite guys are in it: GOD and YOU!

    Love u tonnes!

    Your Belle.
