My Window

Through my window,
I can see,
a bright new day
spread out before me.
The world keeps moving
but I don't
all I do is watch
through my window.

Children grow,
then get old,
faces change
life is bought and sold.
Everything changes,
all but me.
Through my window
I see all I need to see.

Look through my window.
Stare at me.
I am cursed
with the gift of immortality.
Another lifetime
passes by.
When you don't age
time just seems to fly.

Children grow,
then get old,
faces change
life is bought and sold.
Everything changes,
all but me.
Through my window
someone's starring back at me.

At my window,
a pretty face.
eyes that shine with
an everlasting grace.
She calls to me.
Do I answer?
My palms sweat,
my heart is beating faster.

My fear of death
kept me from seeing,
the life I lead
I was not living.
Fuck the window.
Trust in faith.
Step outside
and stare my life in the face.

Children grow,
then get old,
faces change
life is bought and sold.
Everything changes,
even me.
Through the window
you can watch the life I lead.
