Dissolve Life into Pain

Lay your head to rest my love.

Lay your head down
and allow the blankets and pillows
and shadows of the unknown to
engulf and smother your soul. Feel
the warmth surge
from your mystified head all
the way down
to your motionless feet.

Don’t talk- for this moment
in which you bask will forever
be ruined. Just lay there my sweet.
Lie there while all around
people drone in
and people drone out. Never give in
nor shall you bestow upon them an emotion.
Fear none of their pathetic remarks.
Care only about this moment.
This moment, my dear, is one of your last.

The drug has finally set. You feel
yourself go numb and adore
the adrenaline rush streaming
through your heart. Over and over
again you replay the sad, feeble aspects
of your dwindling life. Neither your head
nor your heart will stop for a moment.
Not for any one feature
of this life you are grieving away.
Until now.
Confused as ever, your mind has stopped. The
rush is gone and now standing
in your vision is an angel.
This angel has brought to you motion. You
are able to feel now. But you are only feeling
the pain. The warmth is gone. And all you see is pain
set deep within this angels’ eyes. You watch
this pain drip from her timid blue gaze-
one drop landing on your wrist.
You turn your head to hide-
and she is gone. You’ve realized
your mistake, as your pain falls for one last time
and mixes with hers.
I’m sorry my love.
But you are too late.

Author notes

Hm. I don't really know what to think about this one. I suppose it was just a ramble. But take it for what it's worth.
