Enraged

Could it be that I'm whining?
Or, possibly, I am just plain pining
for those days when I could work:
my garden chores in no way at all shirked.

I'm incredibly enraged
about Satan's clever attack engaged.
He spoiled all my summer days;
wiping them out in his vilest of ways.

From Spring to Fall and its rain,
piles of yellow leaves making a huge gain,
blackberries running widespread.
Oh! Satan's bludgeoning wound to my head.

I had never thought to whine,
not one to complain or to out right pine
over Satan's unfairness;
yet, I'm weary of this tired awareness.

I remember just last year,
when gardening all day caused not a tear;
now, two hours is my best,
then I must stop for restorative rest.

Oh, how I hate this weak life
by the Devil's scheming torture so rife.
But! I'm sure God's still at work.
He's set to destroy that impious jerk!

Author notes

Nothing short of a brain aneurysm and resulting surgery
could have caused me to miss the joy of working out in the
yard and gardens during the summer months. Oh, how I hate
that old Devil!

    excellent

    MEDITATION Ti Chi and other forms have worked wonders for so many. The spirit of God flows through you when you surrender to his light. Cover yourself with it and spend 10 minuts twice a day in meditation. The best medicine by far.
    Bonnie you are doing a great job hon. Never give in.
    Hugs

    I as everyone else, know this is not whining but aggrivation. I understand that feeling well!! Your faith and determination is as Lyrical stated such an inspiration!! I have faith by the spring you will be able to tackle that garden as you wish!! This is a wonderfully written vent, something we all need to do to keep our sanity! Karen

    Well...this might be easy for me to say...so I'll say "forgive me" now BUT you are the strongest woman I've ever met. Maybe that is why things have been this way for you. YOU give me strength and faith through your wonderful trust and love in God. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I see you and see all that you've been through and then, especially lately, I read your jovial, happy words and I look at myself and all I can do is see the love and trust you have and I, myself stop complaining. Love to you Bonnie. You are an inspiration to me and to many.

    Bonnie, I know the Lord has been your strength through the health
    problems you've faced. I'm glad your okay sometimes people don't get that second chance. I had a aunt who died of what you had and I'm glad your alright. Thank you for your entry and you keep being that garden of beauty for the Lord. Sherry~

    Wow. THis is s really great piece of poetry. The images you paint in ones mind makes this all the more enjoyable to read. Pain and some anger seem to pour out of the couplets. This is a great write. Keep up the awesome work. I love the picture at the top, and your background is beautiful.

    I hope that you can work in your garden again up to the old normal self. I hope that you can fix the plants to look their best, and to love them the way they need to be loved.

    This is wonderfully glib! LOL See, I thought you would think of something. I don't think you're necessarily whining. Godly people don't whine; they get angry and dig themselves in for the long haul which is what you did. You're not only a physically strong person, but you are also an emotionally amazing person. You are doing a great job of recovering, and God has truly been right by your side through all of this. I'm so happy to see that you are doing well. And, the gardening will wait if it has to. God will make it beautiful for you, my dearest sister. Love, Patricia ♥

    Great rant here - sorry to read you didn't enjoy your summer hobby as much as you'd have liked. Take care of yourself - and next summer get back out there full force! Good luck in the contest - Oh, and I really liked the background for this.

    Great write, though I do hope you will soon be able to return to your hobby (hey, at least it's healthy). Keep it up!

    Very well written rant, I hesitate to call it whining because that denotes a state of feeling sorry for oneself over someting silly, whereas your issue is far from silly or self-pity, yours is a genuine and serious condition with a genuine pissed off rant. Awesome job, and best of luck in the contest.
