My heart aches as I place a flower
upon your bed of eternal sleep.
A tear falls as I remember you
how you have become such a part of me.
You carved your spirit into my heart,
my mind,
and my soul.
When you departed
A piece of you stayed with me-
A constant reminder...a bit of hurt to tug at my heart.
Everyone says there is a gate to hell
somewhere on this Earth.
Well then, I wonder, where is the gateway to heaven?
I will not rest until I find it.
And when I do, for I know you are resting there,
I will venture through it
and take you back home.
