Every Ticking Moment

As I think about the future
I realize it's not that far away
only two more years of waiting
is all i seem to say
But every ticking moment
sinks deeper into thought
so many questions left unanswered
the whens, the wheres, and why nots
Life just seems to move so quickly
it's complicated and unsteady
The one main thought that fills my mind is
"maybe I'm not ready"
There's so much more to learn
about this cruel and sin-filled life
There's so much more to everything
way more than meets the eye
So with every ticking moment
I wish that time would stop
so I can finally answer the question
Am I ready? or Am I not?

Author notes

Bleh..I haven't written in a few months as you can tell. I was just sitting and thinking about how fast life has gone by..in 2 or 3 years, i'll be out of highschool and on my own, but i just want to know if I'm ready to make a decision like that at such a young age (I'll be 17 or 18 when i leave home for college) oh and by the way..the butterfly is supposed to resemble being out in the world on your own..so dont think im strange

This is great. I remember last year when it finally sank it, I'm gonna be in the real world. But now that I am, a college student (though I'm still looking for a place out of my parents house) it's hard, and much different from high school, but not bad. You will be fine. You get pushed in, but you learn to swim. Trust me.
