vulnerability has its veneer

soaked to the bone you weigh like lead
Your late, you’re late for an important date
in turn all become the “Mad Hatter”
It’s not the colors in your closet that clash
quite simply, it’s your lack of cash
Maybe a bank loan would help fill your
gas tank; you feel like the Titanic
Your inward screams crave, cry out
you want to shout Maalox
Where oh where have I left my Maalox
please, please let me out of this box!

Humor is often the best medicine May your endorphins vibrate & come to life It seems when I posted this before some did not know that in the U.S. Maalox is a brand name for an anti acid.

I smiled a few times reading this! But, the copyright at the end is a little unnecessary, it says it in the right hand corner up there! ^
I do however love this part:
It’s not the colors in your closet that clash
quite simply, it’s your lack of cash
Even if it wasn't meant to, it kind of shows a little bit of a stereotypic mindset. -

Hello Edna, thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment Maalox is a brand name of an over the counter gastic anti acid... often used to treat indigestion and in my case ulcers. It seems I tend to keep things inside. The adverstisements are often seen in televised commercials or magazine advertisements. I hope this helps you

Maalox is an anti nausiant I think. Its an over the counter drug that can be found at any pharmacie and its on TV once in a while.
I liked this poem it was cute cause if the endline. The world comes down to the need to be comforible and with Maalox... thats possible even when the world is crashing down. -
The punchline is a bit lost on me as I have no idea what on earth Maalox is. Is it a painkiller? A depressant? An illegal drug? A brand of chocolate? Maybe a footnote would help.

What can I say? This poem is quite the tasteful, un-crude, un-obscene reference to a gastric condition ever made! The quaint metaphor and super subtle rhyming make me love this poem, I can't help myself! Only pure genius can incorporate such a tribute, and such an air of mystery, and such an eloquence into something so relevent. Superior write!
