sometimes mommies go away
when i first held you in my arms
i swore id love you everyday
but there was something i forgot to tell you
sometimes mothers go away
i never meant to hurt you
and hope you understand
that any tears iv caused you
were not apart of a plan
sometimes bad things happen
and its hard to tell you why
but it always breaks a mothers heart
to see her children cry
now i hope your listing
its important that you do
for i want to tell you
all about the love i have for you
a mothers love i have for you
a mothers love is special
its a bond we will always share
weather i am far away
or right there holding you
there hasn't been
a single day
i haven't thought of you
and said a very special prayer
for God to see you through
i know that i cant change the past
oh how i wish i could
i guess I'm asking for forgiveness
for the confusion,sorrow,pain
and self doubts you have because
your mom went away
but now its almost time
for mom to start her new journey home
and promise to never leave you
all alone
i want a chance to try again
to start our lives brand new
and this time bring laughter
and lots of fun
and love that's true
i know it wont be easy
and it will take some time
but with your hands in mine
up that hill of trust
we will climb
my promise is to be there
and there will never come a day
when you turn your head
to see your mommy go away
deserah i mean every word of this
i will always be here for you
i promise things will be different
keep your head up
and stay strong
I'm coming home soon baby
it wont be long

Beautiful poem. :]

This is a great poem. There were some spelling errors, but the feeling in the poem is so raw and pulsing that it didn't distract me much. This is excellent. Thanks for entering!

great
that is one of the best -
wow this reminds me of my dad. He moved to Tennessee and I wish he would've wrote something like that for me. I literally starting crying while reading this because I haven't seen my dad in over a month and I really miss him and I can completely relate to this. Keep up the good work.

This almost made me cry. It is a beautiful poem. I know that these things can be hard, I have a few friends that have gone through things like this. The poem was very wonderful though and it struch my heart. God Bless,

Aaaw this is really sad, but very powerful. It's really hard to read, because this happens a lot. Good job, and keep it up.
