Sophia Lea (Acrostic)

Sadness fills my heart tonight,
Of tragedy I've learned.
Precious child is taken home,
His angel is called back.
I will always pray for you,
And ever be your friend.

Liadan we are all concerned,
Emotions will never lack,
And we'll all pay amend.

Author notes

This acrostic to Sophia Lea is entered into Dantes Inferno's contest "For My Wife". If you want an explanation to who Sophia Lea is, please go to the contest page...

I have experimented with rhyming patterns, and this poem uses the pattern "abcdef bdf", with a "767676 776" syllable count pattern. I hope you like the poem, even if it's a little untraditional...

Strong words give me the strength to withstand the muse over here and yet melt me for the wonderfully penned thoughts and then I am a mere passerby viewing life in all its shades and due thanks to this tribute Shubs

Hi, Lyndon. Thank you for the comment! I sometimes try experimenting with styles and known forms, and see what I get. This way I created the Monchielle, by adding a repeating line in front of the regular four-line abcb-pattern. Thanks for the applause aswell, Lyndon. Jim

    Poem of experience.

It is personal; a mwemorial. Sharing is the anodyne for grief.
Experimental rhyme is a welcome move; not a retrograde one and it often comes off. Miscarriages, not often the subject of poetry, carry away so many hopes, so many understandings. Yet, somehow, we are left richer for it, not that harsh experiences are ever welcomed. Thank you. Lyndon Wise.

Jim, I knew you would do Liadan justice with your work bro.
You make your big sister proud with all that you write. I'm finishing up my poem now and pray that my words will also be of comfort. You certainly get my applause for this and thank you for being so quick to respond to my daughter's call. I see Kitty has already been here. Love and blessings to you and Monica always, from your sis Joyce
