Decaying Planet

Don’t deny that you destroy the planet
You plague the earth
I feel the hate consume me
I stuff it all down again
You know things won’t get better
You know how it ends
Don’t lie to me
Telling me it will get better
You lie to yourself
So you can justify your existence
But the truth
It haunts you like a disease
It burns your flesh and scars your heart
I feel sick
Everything is lost
Everything you touch you destroy
I can’t believe you lie to me
But I shouldn’t be surprised
It is my daily medication
There is no truth in my decaying world
You fill everyday with sorrow
And tinge my heart with regret
How could I ever believe in you?
Forever locked inside of me
You are the worst part of me
My evil twin
I should have never let you out.

Author notes

I wasn't actually sure where this was going when I started. I thought that it would turn out to be a shit poem.  But actually, it you understood what the poem meant, it is talking about my daily struggles that I have inside myself and how they destroy me. I have been trying to write a poem for the longest time about how I deeply feel and I think that this one comes pretty close. When you started reading it you think that it is about some one I so dearly hate...but then you get to the end and realize that it is about me (I guess I could hate myself, but I learned that takes a lot of energy that I don't have).  Anyways this poem just really sums up my inner deamons...fun stuff!

    Darkness or Light..who m'I .?

    I understand ..what you said.....evanescence..We all have a dark side...all..of us..
    Your poem is comsuming and fill with sorrow..And yes you can hate your self...( I can tell ) but, at the end you are the only one who can save your self...That will take more energy that you think ...But, more than energy is courage what will put into test....! Is all up to you....Learn to coexist with your own self ,..and conquer your Darkness..
    That's my personal opinion...
