My Hidden Corner of the World

Amid all the rooms of my life,
there's a special closet in the back.
A place where I escape,
to find the beauty of language,
expression, and passion.
Thousands of people gather
in this tiny closet,
to give me advice,
to critique my personal feelings.
My heart lives inside this closet,
and it opens for those who want to find it.
Inside the closet is also a window,
the window is really a painting.
It depicts real life,
something new and strange to me.
Someday, I might know the person who drew that painting,
or who helped open my heart,
but for now, I think I should thank all of you.

My appreciation to all of AP,
for allowing me to create a closet for myself,
to come and see friends in my tiny room.

If I had four poems to choose, this would have been one of the poems I would have selected.

This was such a great way to explain the poetry site-you are right-it is a type of closet where we can let our hair down sort of to speak and venture out beyond the limits we set for ourselves. Well done!! Thanks for entering the contest~vj
