His lusty howl fills the night
echoing off the moon and stars.
Arooooooooo ~ Aroooooooooo
Where are you?
Where are you?
I hear him from far across the canyons
desolation washes thru me.
I am trapped.
Surrounded by men.
Unwilling to call my lover to the same fate.
His haunting call
quivers the fur on my nape.
Seeps into my soul.
Come to me!
Come to me!
I snarl and snap at the malicious men
sharp teeth grazing one’s throat.
I will not be taken.
Will not bow down before heathens.
Only to death will I surrender my freedom.
His voice grows stronger
lending strength to my struggle.
Calling my heart.
I need you!
I need you!
I break free from my captors.
Bound across desiccated sands.
Find haven in verdant vegetation.
My victorious song thunders through his blood.
Aaarooooooo! Aaarooooooo!
I love you!
I love you!

I think this is great well written and well thought out. I like the flow and imagery you employ in this piece, The quiet desperation of the captive heart. I like the way you've written from the wolf's point of view. I really enjoyed reading this piece well done and keep up the good work. May I wish you the best of luck in the contest

Most descriptive!
I liked this piece. You have given such a great picture of the wolf and the space around him. The haunting cry(ies) really resound over the area where he is. Calling and calling again. Wanting to be heard and you hear him. This is special for I am a lover of wolves. Part of my heritage surrounds them. GREAT JOB!
