You know you have found love (Monchielle)

"You know you have found love"
to Lencio and Ashley
from Jim and Monica

You know you have found love
when all you have to do
is close your eyes and dream,
and when you can recall
each curve and ev'ry seam.

You know you have found love
when you can see yourself
reflected in those eyes,
and when your lover is
your soulmate and your prize.

You know you have found love
when you feel that you know
that person from before,
and when you hold on tight
you melt and you are more.

You know you have found love
when there's a special place
reserved within your heart,
and when you cannot stand
alone or be apart.

Author notes

This poem was entered into poetking's contest "Speak out your love!"... Love is pure and great. Lucky those people whom it met.

This poem is a collaboration between myself and my wife Monica. I could not have done it without her. These words are inspired by things we have said to eachother through our five years of marriage.

This poem is in the style Monchielle, which is a form created by me, where first line repeats in each stanza, four stanzas in total, consisting of five lines, each of six syllables, and line three and five rhymes.

    Lovely

I think I know why you called this Monchielle. Monica=Monchi. And elle, well that is at the end of most style poetry, Kirielle...etc
Well I like it. The new style is great! I will try it sometime, if i get help with the syllable counts.

Awesome poem for your friends. I loved the unique and innovative way of inventing a new form and then, writing a poem in it especially as a tribute to someone. The form's amazing. Pretty clever and though somewhat tough to understand, it's brilliant. I loved your explanation. By the way, cool name.
    Well done. Keep writing.

    Deeply felt!

Some pieces evoke the imagination through imagery. Some pieces evoke depth of thought. Yours most definetly brings out the emotion, and truly makes you feel.
I love this interesting style, quite unique and clever.
I absolutely ADORE when you speak of seeing yourself reflected in the eyes of your "soulmate" and also your reference to knowing the person before, wow! I understand this feeling and it hits home for me. Funny how you can feel so distant from some, like you just can't understand them, but then others you just seem to know so well, so quickly, like souls seperated at inception! I completely relate and that hit home for me, well said! It hit a realization too, thanks.
I get lost and contentedly happy in these feelings.
Love the title and theme too. Beautiful and thoughtful tribute, I am sure they will love, good luck!

    Excellent work, filled with emotion!!!

Hey bro, Another great work flowing from your pen I see. Marriage to your soulmate is so wonderful. You showed so much love in this poem that I am almost without words. I'm a woman though so that won't happen. What a lovely tribute to Lencio and Ashley you gave here. Words beyond reproach that flowed beautifully. Excellent choice of background as well. Geez, this sibling rivalry is hard. I propose a truce. We should always just write and enjoy ourselves. Thank you for sharing this excellent work with all of us and you most definitely have my applause here. Love and blessings to you always my brother and best friend. Joyce
