Cat on a Bed

She stares at me
Across the sheets,
So content,
She almost smiles.

She murmurs her delight,
Her eyes half veiled
Her beauty
Black as night.

Author notes

I had a cat called Velvet she was a black beauty (hence my name) this poem is in her honour ; although you could read it to mean other things if you wanted

Thank you! Thanks for the definition of haiku. This site is really good fun - but I think I should leave you to it now it's getting late for me!
