Please Stay Shubs

A true gentleman through and through
pure poetry written from the heart
a gentleness found in words penned
emotions emitted appear on the paper

To silence your poetic words my friend
would be to blind us from their beauty
spiritual writes would be sounds of silence
to leave empty poetry only you can write

Pessimistic in nature is a good thing in you
you see the truth and it touches you
your soul longs to make the world better
through your words you make a difference

You have opened this poets eyes my friend
more then once to appreciate your friendship
you firmness in your beliefs make you
the caring compassionate soul you are

The beauty you give out in your poetry
must not end, for it is much too soon
to take such beauty away from others
would be to take the warmth from the sunshine

Author notes

I wrote this for my friend shubs who I have come to know through his beautiful and heartfelt poetry. He was thinking of leaving. I hope I have convinced him to stay. His poetry and his beautiful sense of compassion for his fellow man would be a great loss to allpoetry. Thank you for staying my friend.  Sandy

    I am moved--not literally

I never knew I was missed so much..well it is sad..I will like going to heaven and returning back on earth Sandy..your poem is a reminder of what I am if at all my self introspection is true of what I am..I let negativity get the better of me,,...its so true that the good about you is seldom believed but the bad about you immediately tallied..
Such are the vagaries of life...I feel so overwhelmed by the ensemble of comments from my fellow poets that I dont mind writing just the 26 alphabets as my next poem and getting brickbats by the dozen..Thanks Sandy...my skin suddenly has multiples of flesh added and the strata keeps on increasing..I hope I dont let you and all my great peers who have commented over here..spoken/written so much good about me,down..it pays to get a dark cloud....after all I come to know the value of the silver linings in my life===Shubs

    My opinion.

Oh I hope that you will not let someone else's negativity affect your work. Believe me I know just how that feels. By the way you can delete those comments and block the writer of them on your favorite files. Sadly it is something that we alll have to do from time to time. Shame on them for being nasty. So Shubs you just hang in there and remember that are better people in this world who love your work.

Well done, Sis. I think this will convince him that he has a lot of admirers on here. He should focus more on the positive responses...he gets more of those than negative ones. ♥ ♥ ♥ ~ Linny

This is a really beautiful write, I absolutely love it. And what was written here is very true and apart from that, shubs is a really nice person - he left comments on my work once that were very nice! Shubs please stay, don't let a couple bad critiques bring you down. Compare the amount of bad critiques you have to the amount of applauses and great ones you have. EXACTLY! So stay, s'il vous plait. That's all we ask of you.
Never stop being the talented people you are, sandy AND shubs!

    Very sad poem

It's reassuring to read a poem dedicated to the talents of a fellow poet and to note that the comments by various poets also echo the praise penned by the author of the poem. I don't know the subject of the poem but it is clear that he is loved and appreciated - let's hope he reads it and responds positively. The writer deserves such a reward. camus

So touching that you wrote this poem in an attempt to keep obviously such a wonderful person here at allpoetry. It was written with heartfelt emotion that seeped from the words and demanded all the reader's attention and sympathies. Beautiful penning yourself too. Always a hard thing to do; write about someone else but achieved well here. Thank-you.

As I begin to work my way through the list of features again today, I am plesantly surprised to see that for once, it is not filled with the usual dark, cutting pieces. This was truly a loving and heart-felt piece. Whoever this is for must have honestly touched your life. Such a tender piece, packed with much emotion and the image just seems right. I always hate to see a poet leave, but at least you know their thoughts. One of my friends recently deleted everything, and never said goodbye. I have no way to find them. I hope things go well for you.
