The warren was covered in fallen leaves
it was almost Halloween in the glen
now Chester bunny was all excited
he would wear a costume and pretend
There was a big masquerade party
in the rows of cornstalk on the lea
all the woodland creatures would gather
Chester knew what he wanted to be
Well he dressed up like a scary monster
he scared everyone and made them run
chasing them up and down the corn rows
looking so scary and having so much fun
As the clouds covered the moon it got dark
he realized he had scared everyone home
he heard a sound off in the distance
he was afraid as he stood there alone
The sound was getting closer and closer
lost in the cornfield not knowing where to run
he thought to himself and realized that now
he faced the consequences of what he'd done
A large dog was howling at the full moon
Chester saw two large eyes in the night
looking so scary with big pointy white teeth
Chester couldn't move, frozen with fright
Then it happened in the blink of an eye
all his friends jumped out and yelled Boo!!
they started laughing and said to Chester
you didn't scare us but we sure scared you
Then the howling dog with the big pointy teeth
came closer and said you know me too
Chester I tricked you but now I have a treat
close your eyes and count to twenty by two
Unmasked and standing in front of Chester
was his sweetheart named Penny Sue
the flying squirrel with the soft red hair
he stuttered, "I knew all along it was you"
it was almost Halloween in the glen
now Chester bunny was all excited
he would wear a costume and pretend
There was a big masquerade party
in the rows of cornstalk on the lea
all the woodland creatures would gather
Chester knew what he wanted to be
Well he dressed up like a scary monster

Wondeful, orginal work that is well worth rea
My, what a cute and original vividly painted piece of work. I love children's poems because they are happy and innocent and devoid of the cutting and other dark thoughts that they accumulate later on in life (refer this site !) to the apparent point of paranoia. So I love the thought that people out there are doing this for children to enjoy. Wonderful !! Keep it up for I will support you in any way I can. -
Really good poem once again grandma, I really like these Chester bunny poems, please write more!!!
best wishes as always

I loved this. Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, and this poem just brought it all back to me. It seems that as your grow up, little things like this fade. So dear AP friend, I thank you for bringing this all back to me. It's been a wonderful read. You struck a wonderful chord with me =)
