despair sets in like winter;
the warmth of life fading with every dusk
and relenquishing a growing part of every day
to the dismally grey hopelessness of depression...
the warmth of life continues to dwindle
while depression grows and strengthens it's grasp
upon the mind it has come to season...
the warmth of life recedes as the bitter cold comes
and day and night become one cold bleakness
to torment me with regrets and what might have beens...
gone now, the warmth of life and a laughing sun;
despair sets in like winter and consumes my heat,
leaving me hopeless and cold on the side of the road
like a bottlecap with an inscription for my parents-
"Sorry, Try Again"

I can definitely relate to the mentioning of depression. This poem is well written. The ending is was grasped me the most. I think the ending is brilliant! Rather sad of course the parents getting a bottle cap saying "sorry try again." Wow. That's pretty deep. I like your creativity!!!

Take Care, <----- (notice i didnt put "sincerely" lol)

GOLDEN
I can't stop reading your poetry. I have got to get up and get a million things done today and I can't stop reading your poems! This is a great, dark, deep poem. I love this write. Your words are so intense, your phrasing is really unique. And: like a bottlecap with an inscription for my parents, "Sorry, Try Again", that is GOLDEN. Golden words straight into my soul.
Blessings! Tammy -

"Sorry, Try Again"
Excellent line and my favorite by far. It seems to pull the entire poem together wonderfully.
This is an absolutely amazing poem. It is so full of heartfelt and raw emotion. And unlike anything that I have ever read before.
Great write.
