An angel has a broken wing and cannot fly.
She limps alone on the ground below
Remembering how she once traveled the sky,
Dreaming of the places she used to go.
The people she used to bless with tenderness and love
Miss her terribly and pray for her wing to heal,
Hoping one day soon she'd be able to soar once again above
The storm clouds of despair and anguished ordeal.
Laying down, hurting and afraid, she rests her head.
Tears of joy and comfort begin to fall upon her face.
Feeling the love and prayers being spread,
Her soul is filled with reassurance and grace.
Author notes
For Susan who is fighting cancer for the second time and is currently in the hospital with an infection. Her AP friends miss her.

Now out of the entire poem, I truly think that the last four lines of this in your piece is truly inspiring, I have no doubt that she will get better and sometimes reading the hope in other people gives you all the more strength to fight it, I think that is what you gave Susan here... this is great, Thank you so much for entering
... Best Wishes in this contest and in life, Take Care

Your poem is pure magic. I read Susan's comment, although without it I knew she would love it. I have no doubts about the heal property that prayers have. Thank you for entering the contest and best of luck to you.
