A Recipe For Survival

Take a dose of kindness from a good friends smile
Mix it with good wishes that reach o’er seas and miles
Add a pinch of courage sent from the Lord above
Seasoned with a peppering of families true love.

Simmer all the prayers especially said for you
Blend them carefully and thoroughly into one big stew
Taste the aromatic flavouring of hidden inner power
And serve all these ingredients in your lowest hour.

This dish is guaranteed to revive you when you tire
And feed your heart and soul with all they may desire
It will make you extra rosy and give you a healthy glow
Filling you with added strength to survive and grow.

For the things that are important make the nicest dish
Mingled with the very best of every hope and wish
So raise your head and face this fight you have been shown
Knowing that this recipe is NEVER cooked alone.

And therein lies the real secret, for it is when we are feeling our worst that we have to be our most positive...
