Words cast in silence
Sound the loudest of them all,
Things unsaid and stories unheard
Are the strongest when they call.
Swiftly fleeting, pushing the limit at sixty
We're forever moving,
But the clouds are somehow stationary.
Their waters form a dolphin
That slips over roofs,
The Virgin Mary silhouetted
Against the sun shining through,
Fading, melting, to E.T.
Or a beach chair,
Spider web kaleidoscopes in the sky.
Slipping slowly, stationary.
Green shorts playing basketball,
A jogger sat down to rest.
A shed marked "No Trespassing"
A curve that causes you to forget
Where the last one had led you.
Ditches you once fell upon,
Shoes once muddied by those waters.
An apartment you had crossed once,
Where resides a boy unloved,
A boy who knew seven languages,
Who left his mother, for what?
A story told through in-car speakers,
About a gentle race corrupted
By strange ones who coveted their gems.
A taste that reminds you of a smell,
A thought that you could never tell.

What did you think

The strongest part of the whole poem was the end. Until the very end I didn't think it really all clicked but at the end it was like everything suddenly was tied together. I'm pretty sure my face formed an O. Deep, moving, and extremely picturesque ... as always. Great write. I wish you had more posts ... I'd love to see more of your work. =)
