The Fallen

Come here my child,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Turn off the outside world,
So I'm the only sound that you can hear.

You see this life?
It's full of pain,
If you follow me my child,
I can end this torturous reign.

Look at what your God has done,
Isolated you in a desolate place,
If you were to become one of us,
You will experience a fuller embrace.

But there is one thing you have to do,
If you want me to end your strife..

Take this bottle of toxin,
And sacrifice your life..

Author notes

This poem was inspired by a drawing called 'The Fallen' by David Gough. For the benefit of the readers that hasn't seen that picture before, it is a gothic faerie in a bathroom with a devil on her shoulder and it looks to me like it's whispering something in her ear and she is holding a green bottle..

    Well, I was out browsing for a good read and I stumbled upon this. I DEFINITELY found a good one in this. I love the imagery you create...and it makes it even better after reading your author's note. Awesome job!

    i love this!!! i could read it and my attention didn't wander. it's a beautiful poem and you did the picture justice. i really loved how you made it flow and you picked a really creative idea to write about that picture. great write and good work.

    Very Demented

    Very demonically moving(if there is such a word).This is a fantastic write about such a very sad subject that some people succumb to.This had great rhythm and flow too.
