Transient Beauty

October’s glory begins to unfold,
In warm hues of russet, amber and gold
Turning emeralds into crowning renewals,
She lays down a carpet of glorious jewels

But dusk turns to dawn, and dawn turns to day,
So this transient beauty gives way to decay -
As she becomes but a thought to remember,
October weeps with the dawn of November

Hi Rubee! Glad to see you back around. Thanks for "catching up" and leaving all those great comments. Much as I hate winter, I do love the colors of fall. Sadly, they don't last too long, and next thing you know, the world is covered beneath a blanket of snow (which can be beautiful as well, but I hate driving in it and shoveling it). This is the first year that I don't get to enjoy the colors of fall since the weather here in SoCal is pretty much status quo (palm trees don't turn gold lol), but ya won't hear me complaining in winter

An amazing piece. The pictures that spring to mind with this piece are fantastic. Keep up the good work, espically if all of your pieces are like this.

    excellent brain food

A beautifully written work of art. There are memories that make us happy and memories that make us blue. I believe leaves produce memories that weep sweet haunting refrains of love, not bitterness.I give you seven points.

"October weeps with the dawn of November" ooooohhhh.....interesting line. So sad, yet kind of joyful since it really brings autumn into full swing. Today was 24C, so it was more like summer weather....this poem reminds me that it is indeed autumn, and that crisper weather will be close at hand.
