to leave and find some place where I can heal
and know the meaning of unspoilt contentment;
a sanctuary to find my own true worth.
I sit inside my room within my home
where spirits often come to visit me
and sit by me beneath the waterfall,
to ponder where my life will choose to roam.
Cleansed by the water I then rest so lightly,
now freed from worries that once held me down.
I come to see the beauty in my soul
that lies so deep within my heart and tightly.
As rainbow colours blend with water, I
may come to know the meaning true of life;
how precious life and living is always.
Your heart, if you will listen, gives reply.
Hold tight to your beliefs and never waver;
our life is written long before we’re birthed.
Our spiritual soul directs it’s course
although free will is given us to alter.
Your special place allows that you sit still
to meditate on how to change your life.
Yourself be, not what others want of you.
Explore the dreams you only can fulfill.

A very astounding verse that phrased so much peace being brought to life in the sanctuary of your own space in your own home. As the contemplation carried you to the phenomenal spectacle of waterfalls, you have reached the stage of love and compassion which is not easy to arrive at. So lucky that you have this spiritual sanctuary that is with inspiring wonders in its curative powers.
Your last 2 paragraphs are indeed factual on every word you speak. For truly, it is up to us to bestow oneself without reservation in accomplishing a great and good purpose.
I feel your heart and honesty in this magnificent, picturesque and eloquent poem that you have transcribed..
Thank you very much for entering the contest!

To escape to a special corner does us good. Let our spirit relax and be free of all troubles, refresh the mind and gather some strength to face life again. We all need that special place and you show yours in such a lovely way. I truly enjoyed this poem, thanks

From falling cliff I see it all
the beauty of the waterfall
From colored blends I do forsee
the nixture deep inside of me
From mist arisen in the crash
I see the tales of future, past
And in those drops I see the sun
reminding me, we all are one
Hugs...Eddy
Thanks for the inspiration...

I like how you married the seeming contradictory ideas of free will and determinism. I found that clever.
Life indeed is precious, and I for one try to enjoy it to its fullest. I enjoyed your little picture of life.

This is a beautiful, peaceful, positive poem. The graphic you have chosen is just perfect for this particular piece of writing. Water is a commodity that is very cleansing and there is nothing better to bring calm and peace to a troubled soul than sitting near a waterfall, listening to the sound. A rainbow is also a very peaceful sight. I enjoyed reading this, well done and thank you for sharing this poem with us.

This page is such a promise of rainbows with the sparkling water and bow of color in the mist. Your words are very peaceful. We all need such a place of retreat when the world is too much; sometimes it's only in closing one's eyes and banning the worlds clamor, to center inwardly where we begin again. Faith in the substance of things not seen... that dreams can fly if we want them to.

That's wonderful Maureen, well, there you go, how about that, something new I learnt, well it's bound to work my sweet Soul Sister, I will add extra healing to it.

Beautiful thoughts and images, Joan. I shall take this with me today, and reflect on my meditation time, which seems to have been crowded out lately. I'm sure I will be better for the discipline.

Beautiful
This lady paints a portrait upon canvass bare, she lays a kiss upon it's face.And leaves a heaven there.
If you have the time?
Please read my poem the wishing tree. And see that i see as you see. -
Beautifully peaceful
"O sacred solitude. Divine retreat." I found here with you in your blue room. Such peace you leave in words you make to ease the souls of all of us who partake.

This is such a very special poem. A paradise is found within the picture and also found within the whispering voice of your soul found within in your poem. When you are in this very special place it is easy to hear your soul guiding you in a very special way. I am glad you found such a solitary place in which you can listen to your soul. Thanks for sharing your poem and your paradise. Good luck in the contest.
