I am not a poet.
I am not a writer.
I am not one of the few
With artistic vision
Rushing out of my body
Like water down a hill.
I am not a thinker.
I am not creative.
I am not so many things,
But I am a lot of others.
I am a seer.
I can see things around me
That you wouldn't notice
Even if you passed it
Eight times a day.
I am a feeler.
I can feel things
That I have never experienced,
And things I never want to.
I am a dreamer.
I spend my days envisioning
Better times in a better world,
Maybe a more perfect love
And sometimes that much sought after
World peace, as far out of reach
As it may appear now.
I am one of those people
Who has an image pop to mind,
Usually nothing serious,
Mostly nothing substantial.
But from that comes a life,
A mind of its own.
I do not create anything.
Everything creates me.

What you described is what it means to be an artist. I think though that your message could come acroos more powerfully if you created a connection to the reader. Draw us in. You could do this by telling a story, or instant, or image through your poem that illustrates your point. That way the reader not only hears your words but sees them in his head.

I must agree with becks place above, definitely worth a second read. I think alot of us don't think of ourselves as poets but merely a conducter of thoughts. I tend to think you have alot of talent. I love this poem and love your philosophies within it.
Be Well and Be Blessed
Also, your background just adds to the depth of this write

Evocative and beautifully written. But, by the way, you ARE a poet. Smiles. Write on, poet.
