Turquoise hues hug the
sulphur seas, in contrast
to the vibrant sapphire
shimmering ocean, clinging
to the caves recesses;
Crystal clear waters merge
to a milky awareness as the
soft swell touches the iridescent
shades of the fragile fish swimming
in clouds beneath the warm waters
of this ancient isle;
Bleached white sands, shift with
gentle grace across the timeless
home place of the "Caretta Caretta";
Trenched ridges gouged roughly,
heralding the return of these gentle
creatures, strong in their determination
to survive; With their young buried
deep in the warm sands till hatched;
On awakening, they slither and slide till
they reach the safety of the sea; Swimming
in earnest, till they reach their goal..Africa.

Just Beautiful Expression of the Turtle way
This is great, you have so captured exactly what these beautiful creatures do in their life...you would love some of the wildlife reserves we have locally....from Jacksonville Beach,(FL) all the way down the coast and back up the west coast to Pensacola(FL). These creatures are protected here and if you even come close to a nesting area or found to be using illegal netting near the coastal line, we are talking big time legal troubles....It is amazing how these creatures are born, which is a mirical all in its own-if they even make it from the nesting area that has not been distroyed or the eggs dug up and eaten by other preditors-to the almighty struggle to get to the water and then when the time has come for them to mate and they know where to come back to the place they were born to hatch their own eggs, it is just amazing. I could go on and on here, even get into the 4 different species of these turtles that are native to Florida, but I will spare you that....see, you just bring out all this information in me just from this little cute work you have done.....guess you could say I really loved it.
