Talented Poetry

Talented poetry that spills from the sky
Dances on twilight in your mind's eye.
Ghastly news for the muse chasing the storm.
Grasp the template and topic and meter and form.

Swirl in a whirl of foggy delight.
Depths of depression won't give up the fight.
Scream felt in silence, the words quite amiss
Spoken in anger and sealed with a kiss.

Caress soft the corners of body and soul.
Hope for the hopeless to halfway be whole.
Voices of reason?  I doubt they exist!
They call for dreamers to cease and desist.

So, asleep in your daydreams, grasp fingers to pen,
Lean close to the paper like twinkle on tin.
Catch the talented poetry that spills from the sky.
Dance on skylights of twilight in your mind's eye.

Nicely structured and expressed ... with some commendably unusual ideas. Thank you for entering.

    a good poem with edit.

A great rendition for this contest and you obviously went deep inside with good reflection. I would like to add my critical review as to your choice of the following line, "Lean close to the paper like twinkle on tin" which I think could be improved on as it seems like a forced rhyme. Other than that I think that you have a fine poem. joy

The rhyming was just beyond superb and you've basically captured the essence within a dream being dreamt. The images you were conveying however were vivid and highly evident while keeping intune of the serene

I applaud this beautifully-written interpretation of my theme. Sadly, with only two entrants I think it would be wise to close, and I'll send you my thanks, my apologies and 50 points as consolation.

This was truly brilliant. Your rhyming was right on the money and the flow as well captured me as I read. You have such a wonderful way of writing, that it makes me realize how fortunate we all are to have a place like AP to experience it.

Thanks so much for your comment. I really loved the title you gave your contest. It immediately gave me a picture of a talented poem dancing around in the heavens just looking for the right pen to squeeze through. Sometimes I feel like the poetry picks me rather than the other way around.
