The Past Brings Pain

So love me with the teeth of a chainsaw,
Split me open with your tenderness,
As I lay upon my fantasies gazing the skies,
I shall be awaken when all this is over.

I have been robbed by any source of energy,
Spellbound by your star-filled stare,
Soon to realise that the stars soon morphed
Into the flames of selfish human nature.

So I was puppetted into your 2 faced deceit,
The 'love' that you fed was keeping me alive,
Yet I wear the scars to remind me every morning,
How foolish I was to let you into my core..

My throat feels intensive of constant crying,
Loneliness. Sweetly gracing me with it's glory,
Yet a smile hides it all from the peering nation,
How joyous I am of my trustworthy mask.

Human concern reminds me I am still alive,
I need my cover to help me survive..

Wow...That was great; a truely remarkable piece of work. I could really feel the agony in this. It takes the reader back to a time when their heart was broken. The words are very powerful. I am particularly fond of these lines:

    "Spellbound by your star-filled stare,
Soon to realise that the stars soon morphed
Into the flames of selfish human nature.

So I was puppetted into your 2 faced deceit,
The 'love' that you fed was keeping me alive,
Yet I wear the scars to remind me every morning,
How foolish I was to let you into my core.."

They remind me of how I felt when my relationship with my first pig, I mean boyfriend, was over. Thank you for sharing this great piece of poetry.
