seasonal movements

seasonal changes weren’t supposed to
make you move with the wind
parting like leaves, falling from great trees
each branch, a memory
each root, a link- deeply earthed
sentimenting the soil
with forgotten drops of water
like salty tears from lonely hearts
and as you pack your boxes and plan
I can only wonder...who will be the next
to fill your sandy garden with love

Author notes

friends for months, he moved up here to live and having spent the summer here, is now leaving just as quickly as he came. Very good close friend...kinda sad!
