There's no way to control the life we live,
the future is never clear.
Oh I wish life had a guide,
any person would hold it dear.
For you never know when you're going to fall,
whether in love,
in overpowering sadness,
or have spirit sore above.
Oh there's never a way to know,
what a day will bring.
Joy and happiness?
Sorrow and pain?
But if life had a guide,
where would the surprises be?
Yet some unwanted,
but some that make up me.
If we knew all the answers,
what would the importance of life be?
There would be no struggle and pain,
but would we be as we?
If all schemes went as perfect as thought-out,
if things worked as planned,
oh where would the point of life be?
There would be nothing for thought and hand.
Even the most thought-of,
the most dreamt dreams,
nothing can go for certain,
nothing is as it seems.
So even though things get rough,
even though emotions can hurt your heart and soul,
even though so many things go wrong,
the point of life is to know.
To learn of emotions,
to find you're own answers of life,
to grow through the hard and happy times,
to make your soul take flight.
Though promised joy,
life has no promise of living.
It as if promised sorrow,
seems more certain in this timing.
For "But mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain;
The best laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley,
An' leav'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!"

strugle is not what makes life worth while, but is what life is
-
I gather that you feel it is the struggle that makes life worth while. Suffering from lazyitis as I do, I prefer smooth sailing. I prefer minimal struggling.
