penny-paid ink and lace:
a mercy-soaked rag
for the binding of
your up-buttoned smile
and another new year.
plastic hearts--
unbreakable and modern.
and yet you still
haven't found a way
to eternalize
your glass Bravado.
a mercy-soaked rag
for the binding of
your up-buttoned smile
and another new year.
plastic hearts--
unbreakable and modern.
and yet you still
haven't found a way
to eternalize
your glass Bravado.
Author notes
I often write things that have no real meaning. Often brought about by emotion alone. People say it's pretty, so I consent to continue.

I wrote this awhile ago. Upon finding it in my notebook, I couldn't remember the emotions behind it. Let me know your translation. It's interesting to hear.

WOW. You're really good about the comment thing... And you acctually made an interpretation!! I'm excited. And impressed... it's closer to what other people have said.
Thanks. -
10/10
Stanza 1 Line 1: "penny-paid" sounds like the items are bought through pennies (duh) which is symbolic in that the person has not much money and may have very well taken a time to come up with enough to buy them...in short...the person is poor
Stanza 1 Line 2-4: not real sure but the 'mercy-soaked rag' could be symbolic along with 'new year' for a new begginning.
Stanza 2 Line 1-2: "Plastic hearts" are unbreakable in the modern world as an evolution from the pain and ssorrow modern times brought on?
Stanza 2 Line 3-4: saying the person has still not found a waay shows that the plastic hearts are considered strong and better, this also takes back to line 1 stanza 1 and changes the meaning to rich as it just says now that the items were paid for with money, not that it was hard to get the money.....so summery. Rich, comfortable, unhappy, stout hearted person.
Stanza 2 line 5-6: What is bravado? Well with a prefic like 'brava' maybe it means something to the effect of greatness...anyway glass bravado would be feeble greatness and to make it eternal would be an oxy-moron so it must be difficult....
Sumnmery of entirety: A rich and powerful person is detached from the world and as a result has a mild depression, they also appear to be depressed (and also may be detached because of this) because they cannot find a way to protect forever their image and power as power is a feeble thing and they cannot find a way to use power to make power eternal.
That's my interpretation at least...That was fun ^.^!
I like it, dunno what you meant by it but I like the message I found very much,
