The wonder of the love she gives to me
Is something far beyond what I deserve,
For she, some way, has found the simple key
That opens all my doors, and does deserve
To have a life that's filled with joy and peace,
The things I cannot promise day to day.
And yet somehow I've felt her love increase,
Our time together like a roundelay.
But who am I to argue with this lass,
If she, today, agrees to be my wife?
And if that won'drous thing should come to pass,
This lad, at last, has meaning to his life.
And so I hold my breath and hold her hands,
My words are choked, and yet she understands.

Beautiful to th love of his life.
Love is the greatest and when it lasts-- it is wonderful.
I really enjoed the poem. Did not notice the end date but you should win. -
Perfect
As always, I love your constrained and structured style, and your beautiful use of English. This poem so accurately describes the image, that I can't imagine any other way of doing it! (I haven't read the contest rules so I can't be sure). A perfect sonnet. I hope it wins. -
<--- tears of sweetness... Aww!!! This poem is so sweet!!! I really hope that's what was going through Matt's mind as he proposed to me!!! Good luck in the contest!!!
