excellent presentation
This is really beautiful Susan. Your words are very soft in this write just like those fading memories.
I love the picture you have used with the poem.

Shooting stars, what a beautiful theme. Yes, they are akin to fading memories, hurtling through the universe, burning, blazing away, then smouldering ... fading like those memories we fail to hold onto. So much here is captured in so few lines, it is immediately provocative of an urge to ponder!

Hi a super haiku, great my friend, you have my applause, hugs Di

Sis.. this is such a succinct yet vibrant haiku piece. I so love reading the unexpected forms from you. You are so great at mastering these styles.
I do miss you!! We need to catch up soon... very soon. Keep surprising us with such thoughts of vibrance shared.

Dear Susan, What a magnificent haiku, you are such a darling lady with a beautiful heart.
Love you Joan
-
Susan, What a fantastic image you have woven here. Very well done piece. The end of summer does seem to go out with a bang and always leaves me feeling slightly cheated and yet anticipating the fall season as well. Beautifully done my friend. Blessings and Hugs, Gypsy

Susan, I read this before and thought I'd commented on it, but guess I didn't... so here I am
As you know, Haiku is one of my favorite forms of poetry, both to read and to write.
Yours here is absolutly beautiful, great visuals, and wonderful content.
Good luck in the contest, sis

I thought I had left a comment on this one, of course I had visited this page some days ago, sometimes it's the system that goes wrong, sometimes the time at the office, sometimes the mind just goes off lol!!!
This is a breathtaking one, yes, we have shared the same concept here, only you have done it more wonderfully!!! May this win my friend.
Love and light,

Lovely ku sis..
What a shame...an asteroid flies millions of miles across space and ends up breaking up and burning up in our atmosphere for our enjoyment. It almost doesn't seem fair does it...
Hugs...Eddy -
Just wow, I read this several times. I had fading memories simultanously. I usually don't get this much from a Ku, but this is brilliant.
Peace Muddy -
awesome!
This is truly inspiring Susan, I love how you have alluded to shooting stars as fading memories! that is an excellent way of getting your idea across, you never fail to amaze me with the wonderful work you produce.
Well Done!

Excellent
Excellent write..Written so well...So little words an yet so much said ..I really love this.. Good luck in the contest...I really hope you win..You, deserve to.
Blessings,
Betty -
oh how neat. Shooting stars do sort of make you think of fading memories don't they? Well...at least they do NOW. This is wonderful. I watched "Smallville" tonight and it was the night the meteor hit..your picture was kind of shocking after watching that on TV tonight and fits this piece very very well. You did a wonderful job on this.

Very nice, reminds me of the song "Lakeside Park" by Rush:
Lakeside Park
Willows in the breeze
Lakeside Park
So many memories
Laughing rides
Midway lights
Shining stars on summer nights
This really hits home because Lakeside Park is in my hometown and your poem fits it like a glove. Thanks for sharing!

Oh Susan , maybe I am sort of glad that summer will eventually be only a memory. I did not catch too many stars it seems , and neither did you
However there is Hope and Faith , there is Love and Friendship , and there are people like you
much love,
Reenie

I think I saw a shooting star when I was a kid..otherwise, no luck (clouds in the way, etc.) Love this, Sis!

Ummmm Eight words say so very much. I have had many ocassions to see shoorting stars. They are magnificant, as is your haiku. I love haikus and you have made me adore them even more with this. Beautiful with brilliant embers of light.
Much Love,
Renee

I really like this poem Susan, but it appears you didn't follow the rules...I haven't actually been to the contest, but the 2 line brief shows that it has to be in the 5-7-5 format...
I really like it though, so I personally wouldn't change it, or just change it temporarily so you can win the contest, and then change it back
Anyway, as usual, I love the picture too. Good Job Susan...I'm afraid I haven't been a very good friend to you lately, and I apologize. I hope you're doing well

leaving memories would work also.

I think we are in tune, both in celstrial moods it seems!
Well the graphic is really stunning!!!But, not as stunning as your words....really gives one something to think about...which is exactly what a haiku is made for! Terrific write & great luck to you in the contest!!
for you!
