So many years come down to this
A hug given to someone you'll miss
Their suitcases are packed in the trunk of their car
It's hard to believe that their moving so far
You think about every present bought
Every party u attended-every time u fought
Every time you cried- every time you had a blast
Every moment spent together now all in the past
Goodbyes are a lot easier said than done
You now what you're missing: all the good times, all the fun
You look at her as she looks at you
You know in our mind that your friendship is true
You're both fighting back tears- trying not to cry
Hoping that this won't be the last goodbye
The car slowly drives away
And you think to yourself...why she couldn't just stay...

:( Good ):
Wow...all of the poetry on here seems to lean toward sadness/violence and yours is no exception. It seems this site is a repository for depression (I'm so not exempt from this it's not even funny so don't mistake this for ridicule/complaining). This isn't really a whiny, violent, impulsive she-left-me sadness though, it's a much more subdued sadness...like something really is missing, like shoulda-beens and crushed hopes all compacted into a digestable portion. -
I'm going through the same thing. My best friend just moved too. I was feeling just that. Great poem, keep writing.
