Heart to Hart

Let me tell you about a girl, she's like our big sister.
And since I've been back, oh how I've missed her.
Like Blackpool rock, if you cut her in two,
The word 'NICE' would surely be running right through.
She's kind and generous, funny and smart,
And it's no coincidence her surname is Hart.

This summer I really got to know her
With our nights spent drinking wine and vodka.
I laughed till it hurt and then laughed some more
When she talked about curry and fucked on the dancefloor.
Biggest girl in the world and the smallest man too,
And those 'special' ciggies that nearly made us all spew.

Now I'm just sad that I couldn't stay longer.
But I know our friendship will only grow stronger.
In years to come, she'll still be surrounded by queens,
Thinking we're gorgeous in our tight, stonewashed jeans.
Ella will be crying, "Stop embarrassin' me, Mum!"
As we all try to perv at her new fella's bum.

Yeah, this girl's something special. She's been through a lot.
We know she's still hurting. We haven't forgot.
One February day, a day like any other,
The Angels took away her beautiful mother.

Kerry, I can't even imagine that pain.
The sun had gone in, in its place only rain.
Your world collapsed, crumbled all around.
But somehow you managed to get up off the ground.
Taking Ella and Jess into your arms.
Vowing to keep them safe and protect them from harm.

There mustn't be a day when she's not in your head.
How she looked, how she was, the things that she said.
The hurt will be there for years to come.
So grieve, but feel proud - you're a credit to your Mum.
Keep on smiling, dear Kerry, you're doing just fine.
And through you she'll live, the sun will still shine.

So grab a glass of red and think of me,
Sitting on the floor, sipping Green Tea.
There's love being sent all the way from Japan
And a great big hug from this slanty-eyed man.
