Calling All Americans, Stand Tall

Apathy in the kindest American hearts,
is letting our home and dignity fall apart.
Pacifism works when lines are drawn,
as a statement the opposition's stand is wrong .

Where have all the thinking knights in armor gone,
the thinking masses that could see somethings wrong?
Can we afford to sit and wait, let someone else decide our fate?
The past record of the ones in charge, has shown a judgement truly marred.

Yet we keep turning the other cheek, and now I fear we're in too deep.
Every moment they stay in place, it's another nail in a coffin of disgrace.
I cannot believe we just don't know, how to turn and make our future glow.
Insanity is on greedy high rise, social and fiscal responsibility in short supply.

Better band in close tight quarters voice, before we lose the  right to choice.
And not just women's rights, but everything of which our ancestors might.
Do flip flops in their peaceful sleep, apathy in fear is blight talk that's cheap.
Band together, scream loud, be American people stand up strong and proud.

I won't give up efforts to reach your minds, because I know we are the kind.
Of citizens that care for our future strong, not war mongers grabbing at straws.
Talk to each other, parties not relevant, makes no difference if donkey or- elephant.Moderate or what ever, reverse this tide.Show American strength survived.

How true those words are my friend. I had always thought of America as a land of very strong and very proud people. However I must say that it is changing...it seems as if we can just be lead around like trained monkeys on a leash and dance to the tune that is playing in circles over and over again . It is the Dance Of Death...Death of America most surely and we sure are not contributing much for the good of our Planet either What happened? It is darn right frightening

You know folks,as poet Montez mentioned in his comment. Most other nations view we Americans as wealthy lazy immoral people.
They have had no idea of the majority tax payers being below poverty levels hard workers that support our countries government system of democracy.Nor apparently did our own President until this week. This coming from his own mouth. We,who send billions to destressed 3rd world countries in aid.Work hard ,pay the taxes and seldom complain because we have a national kind heart of giving. We don't need an adminastration so woefully uninformed of the hearts and minds of we the people. Now do we?

Yes Robin,to every word you've spoken.I as many other American agree with you on all points. The buck must stop at the very top and if you'll excuse the Raganistic pun,"trickle down "through out the .I have no word for the behavior of the current adminastration.I and most are beyond mere anger.Something had better brake soon.Or there maybe the most outrage the world has ever seen from the American public.Won't be a civil sight.~~Suseann P.S. I wrote another less kind piece recently titled"Tion Governmental Double Talk" Worth the read,I believe.

    My Dear Susie,
It was a shock to many foreigners to see the deprivation and poverty in the Southern States which were most affected by the recent cyclones.
Even though here in the UK there is still widespread poverty, it's not on a scale such as yours of which your politicians cannot be proud.
Isn't it strange that so many billions are being given by your government in aid to the 3rd world, and so many more billions being spent waging a futile knee-jerk war in the Middle East which you (and WE), will never win, when we both have people on and below the bread line in our own countries?
People are leaving the UK in droves (myself included in the near future) - driven out by a hopelessness at the current situation, and in the knowledge that our so-called elected politicians are unable to halt the decline of our nation.
Good theme to your piece of work.
    Much love,
    Robin.

Suseann, I know how passionate you are about this. It's a shame that more Americans aren't standing up and taking up arms (not weapons mind you...you know what I mean). This country is falling from it's thrown quickly.

My point exactly.Global warming has been ignored and denied to even exist by the current powers that be.Look at the weather paterns effecting the U.S.as we speak.First lets fix our own country. Then fish for the whale. It starts with US.So your right in as much as it being the one person or one country growth.

    Great poem!

It flowed smooth, considering politics and disasters are pretty rough. I liked your structure, it looks like a building kinda.

this is an interesting way you wrote this to look like a building. I don't know if you did that on purpose but that is how it looks to me. very interesting read.

is it meant to save us, saving as saving its people, the planet, we are all our own causes and effects, we move forward individually, thus move the universe, what will come, is what we make come, what comes after , is what we make come after

I used to think this way to.And still would. But that won't work fast enough to save us.The good ones, and we know who they are, like you.Have to unite and move quickly. One nation, one voice in reason is the only way now.~~Suseann

Thanks and I will keep sounding off in this until decent Americans all vote in a voice of reason and no slick stuff with the good ol boys club tampering with the vote. There are a majority of real Americans in all three parties. They just need to find each other quick, and speak in one voice. The sleezy conservative types need to leave now.Or things won't be to rosy in their future here.I'm not leaving, all our freedoms are at stake. They can cart me off, then I'll be passive and I won't be walking.Either way.

i think, when each individual looks to themselves and begins their path to oneness, it causes that ripple effect to reach out to others, while poeple and countries still see themselves as bigger and better than another person or place, their growth is stunted in materialism, greed and selfishness, the modern world is based in these 3 things, if if used what we needed, though more about our planet and futureof all ,our lives would change in an instant, its all choice, we can choose not to have war, we can choose to not have greed, a simple choice that we find so hard to make, while we live in the past and fight for it, dwelll in it and not move forward , we are stuck

    AMERICAYOUCANBETHEBEST

Wonderful thoiughts Susanne but sadly whislt you have the Bush regime and NOTHING to take its place America will continue to fall . So many wonderful people and free thinkers were born and lived in America but conservatism on many occasions silenced them The hatred of Indians, The hatred of the Blacks,Macarthisim , The blind hatred of Communisim, now the hatred of religions other than christian, You need to stop and start turning this hatred into understanding and realise the ability a great opportunity to stand by many out there that would love you and go with your country and make it the truly great place it potentially could be. But first get rid of the Bushes and the future Bushes to ensure that positive pathway
