The light in my day isn't solar
yet it is the eyes of my daughter
what makes my world shake isn't the axis
but my son shaking the sheets every morning at the edge of the bed
I know what makes my day worth living
it's all the smiles that I make come alive
when I go to class and teach my other kids a new letter
seeing them enjoy the school days while they still can
when I get home my husband's dinner smells so nice
his arms I've been waiting for all my life
those are the things that make life worth it
