Seeking the truth in what my hearts told,
Waiting to break as the ice burns cold.
Looking into you, I’m no longer there,
‘Forever Friends’ but you no longer care.
Your eyes mirror your soul that’s black,
What you've caused you can’t take back.
Filling others ears in deceit of Hell's power,
So now your sweetness has all turned sour.
But I will believe in our friendship that’s old,
Because "new friends are silver and old friends are gold."

it is a quote, the contest was actually about that line and we had to write a poem about it.

congratulations on winning bronze!

I know a thing or two about loosing a friend. It hurts right down to the core, but somehow you have to pick yourself up and try again. No one can live along, and somethings are just worth the risk.
The last line was a killer! Is it some kind of a proverd(cause you put it in brakets) or did you come up with it? Either way, it's still a powerful way to end your poem. -
I really like this one, though it is quite sad it kinda brings out every tiny little part of a friendship because nobody is perfect and friendships do fall apart.. sometimes.. friends fight and they often get over it and some dont..
great job
