Mrs. Bus Driver

The little yellow school bus
riding down the lane
why are you in such a fuss little yellow school bus?
what is it that you gain
by going ten miles over the speed limit?
Are you angry, Mrs. bus driver
that you have more kids than last year?
Do you want to kick off every little 6th grade rider?
I think you should leave the bus and go have a nice cold beer.
Mrs. Bus driver, you say my name when I get off at my stop
Please revert to calling me Sally
for a little girl now knows my name... she may give it away to a cop

I know anyone who has taken a field trip or is a bus driver could certainly understand this poem. ~ It has the classic sense of humor when you think of a bunch of 'screaming' kids. Even the number of kids that could fit on a bus... [doing the math...] ... too much!

You certainly brought a smile to my face, I noted the rhyme, it was cleverly placed in ~ You never gave way to what was to come!

Thanks so much for entering my 'fun' contest ~ the pleasure is all mine reading your work,

    Best of luck to you,
    Florida Sunshine

I am uncertain as to what this poem refers, aside from the obvious angry bus driver. It appears as though there is a child-killer being harboured aboard the bus in the poem, and that the bus driver knows the identity of this criminal. For a poem about a suspicious character, you have provided a jaunty tone. This is inkeeping with the light-hearted part of the human spirit, known as innocence and which the French humans call "joie-de-vivre. Forgive me if I am incorrect - I cannot help it.
