Author notes

This poem was custom made for the contest "JavaScript Functions", but didn't get any tropies. I'm not good at JavaScript, but PHP is more my piece of pie. Should be easy enough to understand. I just hope the 'bogus' code don't mess up AllPoetry.

Hi, -ENCORE-! I know now that this site runs on another language, but I was worried that it used PHP, so I was extremely nervous when adding this poem. The code would compile, but as stated, $poet is undefined, and may return error. That line was added as some sort of PHP humor. You would like to use this for your site? Well, as long as you credit me somewhere on the site, saying that the auto-response poem is coded by Starhiker. I did have a section on my website reserved for my own PHP-programs, but the server hosting my site is down, so I would have to send you the code by e-mail... Thanks for the comment, and the applause, I really appreciate it! (And that is no auto-response! ) Jim

    theunseenpoetryofcode...behind the pages.....

interesting. i see the code, jim. i thought maybe it would be inside a php page, or maybe i'm missing something. code to auto respond ? be nice for comms though...and responses...this site is limited. do you have any private site for php and javascript code....? anyway. thankyou ..i might steal this code for my site one day...altered , but ..nice code. (other )laughing) readers aren't going to have a clue for the most part....(smiling)....sorry it took me so long to get to this. had a few sick days...and catching up on my own coding....atb, -encore-

Yes, there is infact three "if", just in a different form than usual. It wasn't a function in reader? LOL! Thanks for the comment! Jim

Okay, on second reading, I see I missed the "if" ... it wasn't all a function in reader

Hi, Steven! Thank you for compiling my poem that way, but actually the program says that I shall thank for comments, and applauses if needed. Therefore...

Thank you for the comment! Appreciated the applause!

I did really like this. Good instruction. In your ternary statements, you told me to applaud if I approve, and leave a comment also. I'll not take the : option on either of them.

It really is a clever piece. Good job.

Hi, tokingjohn! Um... I am really unsure how to interpet your comment, but I guess it is based on your interpetation of my poem PHPoetry. I wonder what you would interpet into the poem Sock Monkey. Thanks for the comment, no matter what it meant. Jim

    mmmmmmmidle

True morality implies a tolerance for other attitudes and modes of life, not necessarily an endorsement of them. The major immorality is in insisting (by coercion blackmail, or law) that others live and think as you do.

Thanks Lion! Well, you told us to write a 'functions that immitate yourself', and this is what came to my mind. With a little tweaking, this might be applied to an automated reply-script...

Never too old to learn something new, is what I say... Over ten years since I learned to code, and that was outdated years ago, but then I heard of PHP, and figured it out by myself...

Interesting, cretive idea. I dont think it'll catch on, maybe you could do a re-write in ASP.NET instead (its awful I know, but I do try at humour sometimes)
