Why did You love me when I hated You?
How could You speak kind words to me when I cursed Your name?
Why did You lend me a hand when the world let me go?
Why did You care for me when I did not do the same?

I just don't understand why a perfect God would seek to save a person like me.
Why did You shine Your love upon me in my darkest hour of need?
I'm kept within the shelter of Your wing,
Even when I caused you to hang on the cross and bleed.

I thank You Lord for the gift of life, Which I did not deserve,
You'll never cease to amaze me.
Sadly many will never know the God I know,
The One who came to save me.

nobody is EVER going to understand - but our love for Him and the gratefulness we have for what He did makes us think 'why, Lord? You're so great, but we're just human - WHY?' we love Him for it anyway, though. WONDERFUL write full of praise and amazement for His glory! GREAT job! thanks for entering

Feelings out here are so spiritual in their essence and your poem gives me hope even as I delve in self pity and wallow in its presence...your poem shows me light..Shubs
