A Lover's Plea

Pray, test the grace within this tongue
and give me words both pure and true
for flowered prose can ne'er express
this timeless love I hold for you
'Tis deeply etched upon my soul
in seas of hope as yet uncharted
where I would dare to brave the rocks
that smash ships of the broken hearted

Give heed  to this my gentle voice
that speaks in whispers soft but clear
and still the constant hands of time
so I may ever hold you near
Let these my eyes drink in the sight
of perfect beauty's incarnation
and taste the sweetness of your lips
whose touch will be this mans salvation
