The love affair has ended
he is now homeward bound
listens to her heart beating
silence is a lonely sound
He was so brave and daring
soft spoken and debonair
compassionate and kind
as a lover beyond compare
Another time another place
found only in their dreams
wished upon their special star
forever shining in moonbeams
This was their special place
a table always shared by two
but she sits alone in silence
happy for the love she knew
For memories last forever
no one can take them away
held close to her heart forever
love so sweet from yesterday

I thought that you described the thoughts and feelings in this painting very well. I like how you used your imagination and thought about how this table might also have had someone else sitting there at one time. I really enjoyed reading this it was very well done.

awwww wow!!~wow!! How sad... yet in all its sadness and depth shines this radiance of beauty that is rare when i read sad poems... the beauty shone in this one and i commend your tallent in writing for it is touching - this poem made the inside of my heart rain in tears

OOH this was sad someone sitting and pondering
one of her greatest love of life,
I could feel this as I read each line as I kept
gazing at the picutre,, I love it,, I love how some of us saw
a classroom and others so so much more,
