Man's Greatness

Beauty is burned in voracity
Hope is forgotten as Darkness rises from the ashes
Chains of our own pride have imprisoned us to this fate
We cry the blood of the innocents lost
We are blinded by it as tears of pain emerge from our lost eyes
And yet we relish in our creation
In our destruction
The flames of man are undeviating
The ocean’s water can not quench its undying thirst
The ever-pouring rain cannot smother its desire
And the tears of a dying Goddess only serve to strengthen its torridity
The old ways are a distant memory
Only retained in the stories of fallen heroes
The echo’s of age-old chants still haunt the land
A constant reminder of our roots
Yet we are deaf to such sagacity
We deny our hearts and damn our souls
We have created our own destiny
And we are lost to it
May Danu forgive us
