Magical Praise

Magical Praise

Kudos to you, my sunny day,
Undying hope you send my way,
Doing what noone else can do,
Ordering wishes to come true,
Showing me pictures that are yours,
Taking me places on far shores.
Open your heart and hear my voice,
Your poems make my heart rejoice,
Often your poems speak to me,
Unknowing how the next will be,
Magical praise I give to you,
You can make chaos fade, subdue.
Sunny day, you can take a rest,
Undoubtedly you are the best,
Nobody else come even close,
Never think you are less than those,
Yes, you know who I talk about,
Do not fill up your heart with doubt.
And I must tell you at the end,
You will forever be my friend.

Author notes

This poem was written as a tribute to my friend sunny day, which I am proud to call my AP-sister. It's built like an acrostic, based on the first line. You can find sunny day's work at allpoetry.com/poets/sunny%20day ...

Hi, Roz! Yes, acrostics seemed impossible for me too, in the beginning, but I tried, and found it easier than I feared it would be. I am glad you liked this poem, you will like my other acrostics aswell. Thanks for the comment (and the applause you dropped earlier ). Jim

I've discovered that I love acrostic, tho I'd never heard of it before joining this site. I doubt I could do it but you do a wonderful job of it. This one's fab and it's a wicked way to pay somebody tribute too.

    Roz.

Thank you, Melpomene! Doing rhyming acrostics are not that difficult, I think anyone can do it. I believe acrostics are the best way of writing a tribute poem, because if spelling the name of the one it's for, is much more personal. And by the way, thanks for the applause!

Thanks, Huntress. Yes, I chose to do an acrostic, but I feel most at home in rhyming poems, and I prefer to use rythm too. If you count the syllables, you'll see all lines have the same count. Thanks for the applause!
