is this what i've been waiting for?
the sun in my face and my eyes on the road
a drive in a town with no where better to go
so we drive
recline your seat and get ready, cause i think this ride is just beginning
i think this is something i've wanted for far too long
something good i just held out on
i think it's time to let go
relax and take a trip to somewhere no one knows
just you and i and this connection we have
i'm not sure yet how it works
and i don't know yet if this is all it's built up to be
but so far i'd say this is what i've been looking for
this is what i had been hoping for
and i want this more than you think i can do
but all i can do is drive and tell you about life
and all of it's discontentment, all of the problems with possible solutions
lacking the money it takes to bring us anywhere real
but anywhere is better than here
so we drive
taking this for granted is something i hope to never do
and wishes are built up upon fears
contradicting what you know is real
and this is all that's left
this conversation wraps it up
and your eyes build me up to break me down
if this is as good as i'm thinking i can only wait for the downfall
and everything that comes along with it
the gossip and the sideways looks
this town is worthless
so we drive
hoping for the best
and looking for the worst
with stories of success and failure
laughter and tears
and i've never been so close
to everything i never thought i could never have
