Along the sunny, tree lined street,
the wealthy people like to meet,
and each other, they do greet,
in various unusual ways.
The Johnsons' speak of public burning,
they look to others with a yearning,
and from all this we are learning,
in various unusual ways.
The Smiths', of marriage they do speak,
there is a new one ev'ry week,
their flapping gums, they do a-creak,
in various unusual ways.
The men talk of ways of sinning,
and with eyes and mouths a-grinning,
they collect their gamblin' winnings,
in various unusual ways.
The wealthy people, they do talk,
as their children take a walk,
the poorer people, they do mock,
in various unusual ways.
With their yapping little dogs,
they aimlessly wander through the fog,
and all this time, their brains' fair cogs,
are turning, in various unusual ways.
Along the sunny, tree lined street,
the wealthy people like to meet,
and each other, they do greet,
in various unusual ways.

hey, thanks!!! like most of my poems, it just popped into my head today whilke i was walking (i do that a lot, mostly to and from the starbucks by my school) and i thought id write it down..... and yes its supposed to be symbolic of the "various unusual ways" of the wealthy and how they treat other people... its kind of a throw back to the late eighteen hundreds to the early nineteen hundreds..... (thats what we're studying in school) and i thought that it fit....

That's awsome. I love the motif. It's really cool. It sounds very symbolic, although I don't know what it's supposed to symbolize.....hehe. Good job though.
