Late December, it dawned upon me
As I spoke to him, he suddenly died
Morning fell into night and I sat there
Eating nothing, believing not a single word said
No, I refuse to take in such lies
Tell me, anyone, that I'm inside my worst nightmare

Yay, a Samplette contest! I haven't entered one of these in...a very long time. I got angsty here but I don't think it's dark, dark angst. I haven't seen this word so here I go!

Hello. I quite liked your poem. Yes, I found it a bit angsty, but it's the angst well-justified and you did great by concentrating it into a handful of words that it wasn't at all like angsty rants that I often encounter. Congrats on the trophy
