Avvelena i Daggers

She sends me poisoned daggers now,
avvelena i daggers,
to pierce this heart that has wronged her.
she has bled, and so now I bleed.

Will our blood mingle
into a new, enduring love
or simply remain the poison
she sends me?

We are beyond words now;
these poison daggers are all that remain.

Author notes

Thanks, Sir Dakkon, for the acute comment! Yes, this relationship swings back and forth, through joy and pain, and to think it's 'only' an AP relationship! Love can be painful, even on AP!

I didn't know what you were saying in Italian, but it was beautiful! (then you translated!) Yes, grabbing for too much can be suicide with anyone, and I hope our relationship is settling into it's proper father/daughter union. May we both consider it a blessing and cherish it!

Standing to the side as I type this so as not to be struck by any daggers. I'm not very fond of the idea of flying daggers pointed your way. This has me very concerned. We need to sit down and have a long chat sweetie. In the meantime... take good care of yourself. Stay safe and be well.

    Bravo

This was very well written. It's a pity that relationships can turn so dark when all you want is to find that special someone. Hell, I probably sound like an idiot saying that, but this was pretty good. It managed to cram a lot of anger into a very little poem. Well done and bravo on this piece.

With a sword of hope and a pen of darkness,

    Sir Dakkon

    Remarkably done!

wonderfully written and descriptively depicted with angst, depths of a hearts pain, and the sheer torment of this soul trying to deal with two hearts. ( my interpretation. )
Wonderfully done!! thank you for this offering!

" feel this so much I hurt. Poision daggers, the pierce me every day, choices to be made, some hurt more then others, but your heart i never wanted to scar. and somehow to anyway. its the sickness of my pushing away.
I feel like poison.never take a sip, never thirst for me.Or blood tainted I make lips.to touch my heart, is only to commit suicide"

I think you use the word dagger too many times. It seems to distract from the poem. If you could find some substitute for the word on at least one occasion you would have a stronger poem.

This is short. But it says so much. I like the concept of a poison dagger. Could the poison be love? Or maybe I'm mistaken, but that's what i got out of it. In any case, i really liked this. Keep up the good work, kay?
