Longing

Sitting alone by the waters side,
thinking about all the tears that I've cried,
looking out at a watery grave,
wondering if my soul could be saved...

Unbeknownst like some forgotten lore,
memories receding from the shore,
lost in a dream of what could have been,
had I not let those temptations in...

Regret and sorrow weighed on my heart,
desperately longing for a new start,
then a sweet voice came and filled my head,
said..."Let not thine heart be filled with dread.

It is I who can make all things new."
I looked around and asked..."Who are you?"
"I am the one to whom you belong,
I'll put in your heart a brand new song...

All you must do for this to receive,
is open your heart now and believe."
Just then the overcast sky turned blue,
I knew in my heart what I must do...

I turned all my cares over to HIM,
my chances of peace no longer slim.

    Superb!

Wow this is an amazing poem.
Fabulous message of hope to all, and I totally agree with it all.
I like the line after the sweet voice in your head, it really turns the poem and makes you smile.

    Great write!
All the best in my contest!

Trust in God is what keeps us sane.

I enjoyed reading your poem very much. Where would we be without trust in God ? All the betrayals, the abuses, the disappointments we experience would shred us to pieces if we did't know that the Master is aware of everything and provides for balance, sooner or later. "Justice works mysterious ways", I say.
    Wonderful poem !

Thanks for the kind words... So sorry that you've been down, I'll pray for God to lift you back up. I need those prayers regularly...lol, so I sure don't mind saying them for others. I will see about getting to know Josh-13 and thanks for sharing that with me.

Ah this has stirred up memories of feelings that He has given me, joy, peace and the delight of being saved from a horrible fate. I've been ill and down lately but trying to hang on to Him and my happiness and this poem has helped me.
