Sitting quietly she
reflects on times once
vibrant with emotions;
Heated discussions laced
with anger and petulance,
giving way to dismay;
Arguments that started with nothing
growing out of proportion,
until escalating to explosions
of wrath,mastered only
by a forgiving heart;
Such longing for peace in
those eventful episodes..
Came calmer times of security
and tranquil living;
A sure and steady understanding
of each others needs sustained
even tempers..a gentle reaching
out to fade harsh words before
they were uttered;
As she sits, she realises what
eluded for so long,the realisation that
Love is..
a knowledge of each others boundaries,
that need not be overstepped.........

WOW! That was so strong! I love it -
Yes you are right..love is an equal partnership, it takes two to produce the harmony that is required to perfect such a union.Too often one plays a bigger part and is rewarded by deceit and falsehoods..this leads to lack of trust and love. My philosophy in life is to treat others as you would wish to be treated..Never accept more than you are prepared to give

The people we hurt the most are the ones we love the most...sad, but true

I loved this piece, it was well writen, my favorite lines where the last four that started of from (as she sits, she realises what eluded for so long) etc these lines mean that love work both ways and that it takes two people to work on a relationship.
Thanks for your applauses and reading my work.

Wow, excellent write, dear poet! No wonder you're on my faves list! I love this imagery and the words flow so smoothly that I found myself reading faster and faster until I got to the end. It's like they washed over me in whispers. Amazing job, keep up the great work!

I always love reading a new spin on what love truly is. I've often said love is just everything you read on a book or see on t.v. It has a lot to do with tolerance and the understanding that every now and then, you're really going to piss each other off. Good read, take care and God bless.

Great!
Direct...But lovely....
I like it.Beauty at it's best.You captured the essence of the topic you chose well.Congratulations! -
This is very direct and simple, but well written. I could almost see this as the beginning of a short story. I think it'd work very nicely as prose, without the last five lines (they tie it up too much for a longer piece). Very nice.
